CHICAGO - In response to growing uncertainty facing immigrant communities, The Resurrection Project, the Illinois Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights, the National Immigrant Justice Center, the Chicago Office of Immigrant, Migrant and Refugee Rights, and the Illinois Department of Human Services today announced the launch of IllinoisImmigrationInfo.org, a comprehensive website providing immigrant families across Illinois vital resources from trusted community partners.

The new website was made possible through philanthropic support and serves as a one-stop resource where immigrant families can find accurate information from community-based organizations about their rights, how to access available services, and how to prepare for challenging situations.

"Immigrant families are essential threads in the fabric of Illinois communities," said Erendira Rendon, Vice President of Immigrant Justice at The Resurrection Project. "This website equips families with trustworthy information about their legal rights and connects them with resources to prepare for uncertainty. When we help immigrant families stay informed and protected, we strengthen our entire state."

IllinoisImmigrationInfo.org offers:

  • Up-to-date information on policy changes

  • Access to free and low-cost legal services

  • Guidance on constitutional rights, regardless of immigration status

  • Additional resources on housing, discrimination, and public benefits

"Illinois is committed to being a welcoming state where all residents can thrive," said Dulce M. Quintero, Secretary of the Illinois Department of Human Services. "Through this partnership, we’re expanding access to trusted, up-to-date information and making it easier for communities to find the help they need. Together, we’re building a stronger network of support for everyone who calls Illinois home."

“The City of Chicago is deeply committed to making sure every Chicagoan, regardless of their immigration status, understands and can fully exercise their constitutional rights,” said Beatriz Ponce de León, Deputy Mayor for Immigrant, Migrant, and Refugee Rights. “This project not only equips residents with accurate, reliable information; it also symbolizes our shared commitment across Chicago and Illinois to stand up for justice and protect our most vulnerable communities".

This partnership between local and state government  and community organizations reflects Illinois' ongoing commitment to upholding the rights and dignity of all residents.

"When one community's rights are threatened, all of our rights are at risk," added Fred Tsao from the Illinois Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights. "This website is an important tool for educating immigrants about their basic rights and new developments that could affect their lives, and providing them with the tools they need to exercise those rights and protect themselves and their families.  We all have a responsibility to ensure that our communities remain safe, informed, and strong."

“Everyone in the United States has rights, regardless of immigration status,” said Cecilia Mendoza of the National Immigrant Justice Center. “Illinois is home to a wonderful community of advocates who are committed to defending our immigrant families and neighbors, and this resource will be an important tool to do that.”

We're asking organizations throughout Illinois to help spread the word about this important resource. The website is available in multiple languages, making it accessible to families from diverse backgrounds across our state.
