Paying for DACA Renewal Fees

Having to come up with the funds to pay for DACA renewals in such a short time can be stressful. We have compiled a list for Illinois DACA recipients looking for assistance in paying the USCIS fee -$495- to renew DACA.  This list will be updated constantly, please make sure you check back for more opportunities.

SCHOLARSHIPS:

UNDOCUBLACK NETWORK

Undocumedia have allocated $5,000 for DACA renewal fees of Black undocumented young people.

If you or any other Black undocumented folks you know are in need of renewing their DACA, please contact me (Patrice@undocublack.org) by Wednesday, September 27. Alternatively, please fill out this form.

Mission Assets Funds

Mission Asset Funds has secured funding to cover DACA renewal all across the USA for free. First come, first serve. We will cover for 2020 people. DACA recipients simply apply, and MAF will send a check already written out to USCIS for payment of DACA renewal. This is not a loan, and no one will be asked to pay the money back.Scholarship applications are here.

'PROTECTION FOR ALL MOVEMENT' FUND

Protection for All Movement is a undocumented-led group of Chicago volunteers organizing to raise funds for the processing and legal fees of DACA recipients who currently qualify for renewal. To donate to the fund please CLICK HERE!

Requirements to Apply:

  • Be eligible for DACA renewal 
  • Live in any of the following Illinois counties: Cook, DuPage, Will, Lake, Kankakee, Kane, Kendall, Grundy, McHenry, DeKalb OR the following Indiana counties: Lake and Porter.

'MEXICAN CONSULATE IN CHICAGO' FUND

The Mexican Consulate in Chicago is offering assistance from $300 up to the full amount of the renewal fee ($495).  

Requirements to Apply:

    • Be eligible for DACA renewal 
    • Be  a Mexican National
    • Demonstrate need for assistance
    • Other requirements will be provided by the consulate.

TO APPLY: Those interested to apply must visit the Consulate, 204 S. Ashland Ave., or call its Protection Department at (312) 738-2023 during regular office hours by October 5th.

Undocumedia has pledged to raise funds to be able to assist one thousand (1,000) DACA beneficiaries eligible to renew to file before the October 5th deadline. For more information please go to www.undocumedia.org

'TRP DACA FUND'

The Resurrection Project's Legal Department has set up a fund to help applicants and cover the USCIS DACA renewal fee and legal processing. To donate to the fund please CLICK HERE!

  • Be eligible for DACA renewal 
  • Apply for renewal through The Resurrection Project's Legal Department

**Funds are limited, priority will be given to applicants that have demonstrated economic need.

SECOND FEDERAL SAVINGS DACA LOAN

Second Federal Saving -a division of Self-Help Federal Credit Union- has modified their DACA loan program and is offering loans with 0% interest.  For more information, you can CLICK HERE!
