Do you qualify to apply for citizenship at no cost?

You are eligible to apply for citizenship at no cost if:

•You receive public benefits (i.e. TANF, SSI, LINK, Medicaid)
•Your family earns 150% of the poverty level or less, according to the table below:

To see if you qualify to apply for citizenship at no cost, please bring the following documents to the workshop:

•Bring last year’s federal income tax return.
•Check stubs from the last 30 days.
•Unemployment checks and letter (if applicable), or LINK, MEDICAL or TANF Card with a letter from the agency stating that you receive those benefits.

To apply for citizenship, please bring the following documents to the workshop:

•Green card, Social Security Card and your Driver’s license or State ID.
•Dates of all travels outside the U.S. since you become a permanent resident.
•A list of all your addresses for the past 5 years and of all your employers, dates and locations for the past 5 years.
•Your spouse’s name, date of birth, social security number AND green card number (if applicable) OR date of naturalization (if applicable).
•The date of marriage and divorce from previous marriages of you and your spouse (if applicable).
•The names, date of birth, and green card number of your children and their addresses if not living with you (if applicable).
•Arrests dates, reasons and outcomes (if any).
•Males: your Selective Service number and registration date (if you don’t know call (847) 688-6888 or go to www.sss.gov).
•2 passport photos (faced front)

If you do not qualify to not pay anything, bring a Money Order of $680 payable to USCIS.
